Storage Type Role:
The role categorizes the storage type, such as Standard Storage, Door, Work Center, etc. In total, there are 12 roles available in EWM.
Storage Behavior:
The storage behavior specifies storage type and bin structure.
- Standard Warehouse is basically used to store the products, define work center, door, staging area etc
- Pallet Storage is used to store different HU types in the different storage bins. The system processes different Handling Unit (HU) types and allocates them to appropriate sections of storage bin. This allocation to a specific section is determined during the initial putaway based on the HU types.
- Bulk Storage is used for product that are handled in large quantities as it takes large amount of storage space. This type of storage does not need physical bins, can be accessed fast, clear structure such blocks, rows.
- Flexible Storage is utilized in empty warehouses or storage facilities that do not require predefined physical bins, sections, or shelves. This system enables the creation of storage bins on-the-fly, which can be deleted once they are empty.
